I had this idea a long time ago, since I came across RSS feeds for search terms, like mininova, torrentspy, and indeed phpMyBitTorrent has it.
It would be cool to have a feature that automatically inserts torrents from other sites' RSS feeds (like the RSS feed for search terms on mininova).
the idea is that if you run a site on the basis of phpmybittorrent, this will make it easier for you to find content that fits your profile. since phpmybittorrent offers a backup tracker function (which i never got to work though), this would also serve to decentralize the network in general. i principle, you could just go and grab thepiratebay.com's RSS feed for all torrents, and bam, you get all torrents they get uploaded. so if they finally take down tpb, there's less need to worry for the file-sharing community.
i talked to a man whose name is tim (hopefully he's reading this, if so, hi!), who does professional work on integrating RSS feeds into SQL. he says that the whole thing seems plausible, but he would need some help with PHP.
