This has been the worst install I have ever had. I am sure glad there are only 4 stages to the install. It is taking me 2 days to get to this point.

I am on my 4th problem. I get to stage 4 of the setting-up.txt document and get the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '&', expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /home/vg006web01/30/10/1041030/web/phpBB3mbt/admin.php on line 153

Please What version are you installing?
Am I reading this corect 2.0Beta4?
the latest release is 2.0.4 repack

In the file "setting-up.txt" is says at the top of the file:

phpMyBitTorent v2.0b4
Installation Instructions

I assume so. I downloaded the .rar file from the link you gave me and it appears to be the same .rar file. I will try installing it and see if I get the same 4 problems.

I'll get back to you soon. I have reinstalled this package so many times I am dreaming about it in my sleep. Smile

I downloaded your link copy of phpMyBittorrent 2.0b4 and made the changes you so nicely documented this afternoon at [message #3728]. MyBittorrent installed fine. Now I get the following error in the last step of creating the database in stage #3:

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: messenger in /home/vg006web01/30/10/1041030/web/phpBB3mbt/phpBB3/install/ install_install.php on line 1931

I get the following error when I try to go to the administrator from the phpMyBitTorrent program:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '&', expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /home/vg006web01/30/10/1041030/web/phpBB3mbt/admin.php on line 153


HELP!


My original complaint was at stage #4.

Ok there seems to be a server conflict
Open admin and find
as &$value) {

and change it to 
as $value) {

there should be 3 counts of that
on install of the forum
open
phpBB3/install/install_install.php
go to line 1931
and change it to
$user = new userbb();

An ADA' BOY to [joeroberts]. Very Happy Congratulations ! I have successfully installed both phpMyBitTorrent and phpBB3 with the fixes in place (that you proptly provided) twice with no errors or problems. I believe this version that I have is a keeper to replace the current one you have for download.

I have several notes that I have taken for your consideration. I will e-mail them to you so as to be private. One thing I will suggest. Is at the last page of the phpMyBitTorrent installation, you have a Donate button. It should bring up a new window so the user does not loose their place if and when they donate.

PS. Check your donation Box. Just wanted to say thanks for your personal cooperation and attention to me and my installation problems. Hope to hear from you again soon [joeroberts].
