I know you can just comment it out in index.php, but i think there should be a checkbox in the admin panel > settings to turn off the welcome message altogether. This is really not something that everybody would necessarily like to have on their front page.

Dunno... Since you can customize it, you can make it user-friendly

Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.

in fact, i transformed this thing into a site-news feature (only pops up when you enter text in the admin panel). this is also what it'll look like in the next official version. could be developed further of course (withe news-items, archiving, and so on..).
